Maggie Raber
Maggie Raber is the lone Mango on the east coast. Based in Washington, DC, she graduated with degrees in Political Science and International Security from San Diego State University and a Master’s Degree in Conservation and the Illegal Wildlife Trade from the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. Her journey with Mango began in 2014 as a client where she trekked with the gorillas in Rwanda and witnessed the Great Migration river crossing in Tanzania. After this trip, she officially caught the “Africa bug.” After graduating college in 2016, she went on a 3-month solo trip to Africa, traveling through 9 countries. From working at an orphanage in Zimbabwe, removing invasive species in the Bwindi Forest in Uganda, hiking the Tsingy’s of Madagascar, enjoying the beaches of Mauritius, and more, this trip made her Africa-obsessed.
Shortly after she returned from her solo trip, Maggie found herself living in South Africa at a conservation facility outside of Johannesburg. Throughout this time, Maggie stayed in touch with Mango, who helped her plan some smaller trips. After getting married in 2019, Mango planned Maggie’s honeymoon. As luck would have it, she was in Botswana in March of 2020 and Mango jumped right in to evacuate her and her husband and helped them re-plan the trip to 2021. During her 2021 honeymoon, Maggie remembers telling her husband, “wouldn’t it be SO fun to work for Mango?” And now, here we are. Maggie joined the Mango team in 2022 and is having the time of her life planning epic adventures to some of her favorite places.
Aside from traveling, Maggie enjoys trying new restaurants, going for walks, doing puzzles, spending time with her husband and cats, and incessantly planning her next big adventure.
