Mango Favorite

Tongabezi is our favorite property in terms of style, design and service in the area. A perfect choice for honeymooners! This clump of properties, Tongabezi, Sussi and Chuma and River Club are located about 25 minutes outside of town. For some, this is great since the properties are smaller and removed from the hubbub of town. For others, this is a daily hassle to get to the sites and activities of the area. Tongabezi approaches their location in a brilliant way supplying each guest with a guide for their stay. He is at their service for a multitude of included activities, like touring the Zambian side of the falls, as well as transfers to other activity points like rafting, helicopter tours, etc.

Victoria Falls is a site that no visitor to Southern Africa should miss. Local tribes people describe it as mosi o tunya or the smoke that thunders. Tongabezi is situated on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River, 18 km upstream from Victoria Falls. Guests here enjoy the sights and sounds of Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River in a peaceful and tranquil setting away from the crowds. Privately owned and run, Tongabezi combines romance and exclusivity with warm and attentive service. Each house and cottage has its own valet who takes care of guests throughout their stay and act as a private concierge. They are beatifully styled with furniture and embellishments inspired by the richly diverse cultures of Africa. Each house and suite boast private terraces that overlook the peaceful river views. Tongabezi has a lovely refreshing pool with a view to the river and a fully equipped gym and a sand bar.

There is no set pattern to days at Tongabezi. Guests can do as much or as little as they wish, with wildlife drives in Mosi-oa-Tunya National park, bush walks, community visits and boating trips on the Zambezi all included in the price. Victoria Falls can be viewed on foot in the national park, from inside the gorge, from Livingstone Island and from the air. Livingstone and the Victoria Falls environs offer many optional activities. Tongabezi Lodge offers private dinners on a floating raft on the river as well as a variety of spa treatments.
