Kirurumu Tarangire Camp is a permanent camp situated in a Maasai concession area bordering the Tarangire National Park. It looks out on a flood plain that is seasonally a rich feeding ground for elephant and much, much more.
The ten tented rooms sit on concrete bases with tented walls and thatched roofs. They consist of 2 double rooms, 2 family rooms and 6 twin rooms. They are simply furnished with comfy beds, en-suite bathrooms with bucket showers and each has its own personal veranda that looks over Tarangire National Park. The main dining tent is atmospheric, with relaxed seating around the fire.
Being so close to the Tarangire National Park, the Kirurumu Lodge is the perfect location for game drives. The park is only about 15 minutes down the road and comes to life with the annual migration of thousands of animals from the surrounding ecosystem, attracted by the swamps that hold water year-round. The elephant migration is the main draw, with up to 8,000 elephants arriving every year. From the lodge you can take a short botanical walk or a full days trek and mountain biking is also available. You can also spend the whole day out in the park, stopping for lunch at one of the many picnic spots with dramatic views of the park.
