La Cotte Farm dates back to 1698 when the first of the eleven Huguenot Farms was granted to the French immigrants who fled their native country during the 17th century. This property is uniquely situated a stone’s throw from the charming village of Franschhoek. It offers close proximity to the fun and bustle of the main street with all the quiet, privacy and rural charm of a working wine farm. Surrounded by lush vineyards, glorious mountains and unsurpassed views in all directions, the farm offers a range of accommodation: from simple cottages to a luxurious villa that sleeps 14.

All accommodations are designed and furnished to the highest levels of comfort, warmth and classic charm - fresh white walls and Malaysian-inspired fabric headboards create a striking signature aesthetic in the bedrooms. The murals in the reception and restaurant suggest a time when Far East trade routes influenced the Cape Dutch. Forest Cottages sit above the hotel’s biggest and best pool and are the only choice for families travelling with under 12s. Gingham tablecloths and wicker chairs kit out the tasteful cottages, all of which are properly suitable for self-catering and breakfast and lunch at the restaurant do need to be booked. Each of the orchard cottages has a pool and veranda with garden views. The Manor House rooms form the main hotel with French doors looking to the vines and black-and-white marble chequered bathrooms with freestanding tubs.

Located in the Okavango Delta, 4 Rivers enjoys exclusive use of the western side of the renowned Kwara Private Concession. In days gone by, explorers whispered of these fabled floodplains, which teem with plains game - and the predators that stalk them. This is the great unexplored. A wild and isolated wilderness with stunning biodiversity, a confluence of waterways, open plains, forested islands, and Mopane woodlands home to African wild dogs, lions, elephants, leopards, sable antelope and more.

4 Rivers is tucked away in ancient woodland and looks across a permanent small lagoon to Maboa Island. Sitting on raised wooden decks, the camp has 9 large meru tents including a family room. All the tents will have indoor and outdoor showers and we welcome children from the age of 6 years old. Private game drive vehicles will also be available. The main communal area will include a bar, dining room, curio shop and a selection of smaller lounge areas that allow you to enjoy the peace of the Delta. The camp will be run completely on solar power with the highest of eco-standards.

With no other safari camps having access to the area, the camp is located a short 15-minute drive from its own private airstrip. A wide variety of activities, including game drives, night drives, walking and seasonal mokoro trips, are all on offer from a camp that harks back to a traditional old-world safari ethos while remaining exclusive.
