Located within the rolling foothills of the Atlas Mountains and just 35 minutes from Marrakech, Hotel Capaldi is an oasis of romance and privacy. The property is surrounded by natural beauty, including Lake Lalla Takerkoust and the dunes of Agafay Desert, with Marrakesh just a stone’s throw away for easy day trips.

Fragrant gardens and gnarled old olive trees encircle the 23 rooms and suites of this secluded retreat, which range from spacious rooms located in a renovated farmhouse to deluxe garden suites complete with their own private pools.

It doesn’t take long to adapt to the leisurely pace of life at the Capaldi. Lounge by one of the two pools, take advantage of the comfortable daybeds or bliss out with a spa treatment or spell in the traditional hammam. Explore the four acres of grounds and end the day with a film screening in a private cinema. Adventure seekers can get their thrills dune buggying or quad biking in the Agafay Desert or hiking in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains through use of a private guide. The idyllic Lake Lalla Takerkaust is also a 40-minute hike from the hotel. Picnic by the shore, stop for a leisurely lunch at French restaurant Le Flouka, or take to the water on a jet ski. Camel trekking, para-glading and hot air ballooning are all available nearby too.

Singita Kataza House strives to embody the gentle, regenerative spirit of Rwanda, and provides a contemplative, nurturing space in which to appreciate the transformative, often spiritual, experience of coming face to face with the forest’s gentle giants. The work of local stone masons, weavers and ceramicists are central in its décor and design, and elements like woven ceilings and hand-fired terracotta brickwork add to the contemporary African appeal.

Kataza House is located on a breathtaking, isolated but contained 178-acre piece of land right on the edge of Volcanoes National Park. From this exclusive use house you will have magnificent views of the Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura volcanoes. Comprising two spacious suites, a junior master suite and a lavish master suite, the villa also includes a two-bedroom staff residence, wine cellar, fitness center, cinema, massage treatment room, interactive kitchen and fire pit. Kataza House offers a full staff complement and a farm-to-table food journey that celebrates Rwandese cuisine and fresh produce from the on-site garden.

The main attraction of Kataza is its proximity to the Virungas and the Parc National des Volcans where clients trek on foot to see the magnificent Mountain Gorilla - perhaps one of the most dramatic, thrilling and poignant wildlife experiences possible. There are, however, a myriad of other excursions on offer.
