Mpala Jena Camp is an exquisite canvas tented camp, located on a private concession within the Zambezi National Park. The camp overlooks a beautiful stretch of the Zambezi River shoreline. The camp is named after the natural spring-line, Mpala Jena, which runs through the center of the concession, and which attracts an abundance of wildlife throughout the year, particularly during the drier months. The Zambezi National Park has a healthy and ever increasing number of wildlife species, with higher concentrations of buffalo and elephant during the months June through to October. This area is particularly good for bird watching throughout the year.
The camp’s four guest tents are under flowing canvas, with open (yet netted) views of the river. The Moroccan influences throughout the décor, are a reference to the early Arab explorer’s adventures up the Zambezi in search of gold in the 16th Century. Decking in front of the tent leads to a private plunge pool with views of the flowing waters of the Zambezi River.
The camp is conveniently located just 16 kilometres from the center of Victoria Falls town, with easy driving or boating access, but the ideal distance away from the hustle and bustle, allowing guests to remain immersed in a safari-atmosphere and relax in the incredible setting and wild habitat. Visit the famous Falls during the day and still listen to lions nearby your camp at night, the ideal combination.
