The Hohenstein Lodge is located on the bottom of the Hohenstein, the highest peak of the Erongo mountains. Measuring up to 2,319 ms above sea level, the Hohenstein represents the impressive western edge of the Erongo mountain range. In the evening, spectacular sunsets above the desert plain bathe the mountain in fantastic red light. Towards the west, the view over the impressive scenery extends as far as the Spitzkoppe peak, a prominent relief from the plain in a distance of about 30 km.
The Hohenstein Lodge offers accommodation in 14 spacious rooms - each outfitted with an en-suite shower/WC, fans, mosquito netting, and in-room safe. Each room offers its own shaded terrace with unique and scenic views. After a long day of activities, travelers will enjoy taking in their surroundings on the poolside deck or stopping by the Lodge's restaurant for a bite to eat.
Situated directly next to a watering hole, visitors will be able to experience some great bird watching and game viewing. Visitors may also choose to partake in a guided hike in the nearby Boulder Forest. From there, hikers can continue through the canyon up to the giant rocks and abundant vegetation to see the mineral miners - allowing a small insight to life and work on the mountain's steep slopes.
