Selous National Park is the largest National Park in Africa and the wildlife here is very good. Rufiji River Camp recently had major renovations and is looking very good for a mid-range property. The setting on the river is gorgeous.

Rufiji River Camp is located on the banks of the Rufiji River, at a point where the ample and tranquil river is animated by many different species of animals within the Selous National Park.
The tented camp is environmentally friendly and each tent is equipped with private bathroom and a veranda facing the river. There are 20 tents facing the sunset, with comfortable beds, walled en-suite bathroom facilities, mosquito netting and all of the comfortable amenities of a lodge. Each tent has a private veranda that creates the perfect place for reading, writing or just resting in the shade. A structure in the central part of the camp hosts the restaurant, bar and library, all with a view of the river and the sunset. A covered swimming pool is situated in the camp, between the reception and mess area.
There is a constant flow of animals coming down to drink at the river offering a permanent show to visitors of the camp. The water is usually full of hundreds of hippo as well as groups of crocodile that laze in the sun on the sandbanks in the river. A few factors have to be considered, like the state of the roads in the Reserve, the level of water in the river, the presence of animals around the camp, etc. The choices of activities and excursions normally include games drives, boat safaris, fishing, and guided walking safaris.
