Selous National Park is the largest National Park in Africa and the wildlife here is very good. This camp is located in a prime wildlife area for vehicle based exploring with less emphasis on walks although they are available. This camp hits the middle of the market in terms of price for Selous NP.

Embracing 54,000 square kilometers of southwestern Tanzania, Selous National Park is the largest protected wilderness reserve on the continent.
Siwandu Safari Camp (formerly Selous Safari Camp) on the banks of the Rufiji River, is designed to blend in with the spectacular natural scenery. Each of the safari tents is on its own raised timber platform, affording guests an unmatched experience of the African bush. They are spacious and comfortable, decked out in neutal tones and safari-chic style that prefectly reflects the natural surroundings. The camp has the prime position at the center of the unique riverine and lake complex, with one of the highest concentrations of African wildlife and myriad bird life. There are no fences and no artificial modifications to the natural fauna and so animals wander freely through the camp.
Open 4-wheel drive vehicles, specially adapted for close up game viewing, make early morning and evening forays into the surrounding bush with expert guides on hand to explain and point out everything from unusual animal behavior to rare and elusive species of birds and even the life cycle of termites. The river and lake systems around the camp make it a honey pot for a huge diversity of animals including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hippo and crocodile to name but a handful.
