This is another restored home and its very well done. The property is small so space is an issue and all the rooms only have 1 bed so you need 2 rooms if you are not sharing.

Right in the heart of Stone Town, in an old restored Arab house, lies the Zanzibar Palace Hotel. The design of this nine room boutique hotel is integrated according to Zanzibar's rich history - Arabian, Indian and English influences. The result is a harmonic, homey place. Room amenities include air conditioning, a huge en-suite bathroom, TV with DVD player, IDD telephone and fans.

From this location you can easily explore and photograph the harbor, mosques and narrow streets of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Zanzibar was for years the center of an ancient trading empire with vessels coming from as far as Persia, India and China. Among the many interesting sites of Stone Town are the Palace Museum, the Old Fort, the Slave market, the House of Wonders and the Hamani Baths.

An optional excursion is a Spice Tour to the many plantations to learn about the history of the island and its cultivation of spice plants. One fun option is an evening of Swahili magic at 236 Hurumzi's famous rooftop restaurant. Local musicians play, the trade winds blow and the food is incredible. You will find that there are simply too many choices for you to choose from. There are many things to see and do on the island of Zanzibar such as hike to the red colobos of the Jozani Forest or a wooden dhow cruises along the coastline.
