Swellendam is the third oldest settlement in South Africa and is situated at the foot of the majestic Langeberg Mountains. It is famous for its architecture and fascinating history. This peaceful town is well known for the Drostdy Museum, the youngberries, arts, crafts and roses.

Your stay at the Bloomestate is a luxury retreat. All rooms have a comfortable sitting area with TV and bar facilities and luxurious bathrooms with a bath and a separate shower. French doors open onto landscaped gardens with a tranquil dam, heated saltwater pool, outside Jacuzzi and mountain views. With a maximum of 14 guests, privacy, attentive service and supreme comfort are assured. It's the perfect hideaway to relax and unwind. Your morning breakfast will be a delicious start to your day of exploring the nearby area, and dinner can be arranged at several very good restaurants, some are walking distance.

You can hike the beautiful Tradouw Pass, mountain bike along the winding trails, dip your paddle into the Breede River as you canoe and fish, take in the stunning vistas during a horseback ride or visit Cape Agulhas and Robertson Valley wine estates. Other places of interest in the near surroundings include the Bontebok National Park, Marloth Nature Reserve, de Hoop Nature Reserve, Malgas and Witsand.
