Situated northern foothills of Mount Kenya, Kifaru House is set on the 65,000 acre privately owned Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Kifaru, the Swahili word for rhino, is a magical lodge nestled on a hilltop in the middle of the beautiful lewa wildlife conservancy in Kenya. The living area is as spacious as the vast plains it overlooks. With a comfortable sitting area around a huge fireplace, it is the perfect spot for conversation after a day filled with adventure. The dining area includes a spectacular table crafted from ancient dhow wood plus an inviting fireplace. Kifaru has a swimming pool which looks out towards Mount Kenya.

A short walk from the main area through the beautiful gardens, takes you to the five cottages. Each cottage has large windows looking out on stunning views and is furnished with beautiful colonial style furniture. Canopied double beds, en-suite baths and private verandas make these luxury in the wild.

With wildlife densities as high as anywhere in Africa, it is possible to see all of Africas Big Five at Lewa. Lewa serves as a safe refuge for the critically endangered black rhino and the endangered Grevy’s zebra, as well as the elephant, lion, giraffe, wild dog and other iconic wildlife species in Kenya. The Conservancy is also home to more than 400 species of birds. Activities include day and night game drives in open 4-wheel vehicles, nature walks, bird watching and additional activities such as horseback and camel riding.
