This lodge is located on the Lewa Conservancy which is THE pioneering conservancy from its cattle ranching history. Lewa has incredible game concentrations especially rhino and the unique Northern species. The fact that Lewa is fenced and highly managed does detract slightly from the wilderness feel, however the flip side to this is great wildlife sitings are almost guaranteed.  Lewa Safari Camp is the most affordable property on the concession. A little bigger than ideal but you can consistently expect comfortable rooms, good guides and delicious food. Our clients love it.

Lewa Safari Camp is situated in the far western side of the 65,000 acre Lewa Conservancy. Lewa has dramatic views to the south of snow capped Mt. Kenya, and to the north down to the arid lands of Tassia and Il Ngwesi. It has many diverse habitats from pristine forest, fertile grasslands, extensive springs and acacia woodland. Formerly a working cattle ranch it is now the headquarters of one of Kenya's major non-profit wildlife conservancies. With wildlife densities as high as anywhere in Africa, it is possible to see all of Africas Big Five at Lewa.  Lewa serves as a safe refuge for the critically endangered black rhino and the endangered Grevy’s zebra, as well as the elephant, lion, giraffe, wild dog and other iconic wildlife species in Kenya. The Conservancy is also home to more than 400 species of birds.

Lewa Safari Camp offers all the comforts of home in the 13 luxury en-suite safari tents;  steamy hot showers, flush toilets and warm comfy beds at the end of a long days game viewing.  Private verandas on each of the tents provides a lovely sitting area with stunning views over the Lewa plains.   Two family tents comprise of an en-suite master bedroom and an en-suite twin room.  The food is wholesome, ranch style and organically grown.

Activities include day and night game drives in open 4 wheel drive vehicles and guided walks.  Additional acitivites can include game viewing on horseback, camels, trips to the Ngare Ndare Forest, and a tour of the Conservancy office.
